本系之發展為先成立研究所,後成立大學部。設計運算研究所於91學年度正式成立,設立目的是以培育藉由設計專業訓練為基礎,探討電腦科技運用於設計理論及實務之人才。而隨著網際網路、數位化多媒體及資訊科技的不斷發展,全方位整合設計與科技二大領域是必然的趨勢。設計運算研究所為因應系所合一,於102學年度正式更名為數位媒體設計系碩士班。

      The graduate school was established earlier than the undergraduate department. The Graduate School of Computation Design was formally set up in 2002 with the objective of cultivating talents of design theory and practice through design specialty training and applying computer technology. To cope with the continuous developments of the Internet, digital multimedia and information technology, holistic integration of design and technology is an inevitable trend. The name was changed to Department of Digital Media Design, Master Program in 2013 to merge the graduate school and the undergraduate department of design computation.

教育(研究與教學)目標 Educational Objectives (Research and Teaching)

Graduate school:

研究所教學與研究目標著重於互動科技與數位媒體設計相關領域的緊密結合與應用性研究。針對產業界以及學術界在新世紀所需要的運算研發以及設計產業應用主題,進行實務上的設計與研究,進而培養能夠運用數位科技與各項設計領域的高級產業人力,教育目標包括:
  1. 探討「互動科技」、「3D電腦動畫」及「媒體整合設計」等相關應用與研究領域。
  2. 提供跨領域設計資源整合研究環境 
  3. 研究發展符合設計行為與訊息溝通所需的數位應用專題
  4. 透過數位媒體設計與互動科技的實務研究提昇設計教育的品質

Close combination and applied researches between interactive technology and digital media design are stressed for the teaching and research objectives of the graduate school. Computation R&Ds and topic design of industrial application required by industries and academic circles will be designed and studied in practice. Thus, high level industrial human sources that are capable of applying digital technology and various design fields can be developed. The educational objectives include:

  1. To explore applications and researches related to interactive technology, 3D computer animation and media integration design.
  2. To provide interdisciplinary design resources and environment for integrated researches.
  3. To research and develop digital application topics necessary for design behavior and information communication.
  4. To enhance the quality of education through practical studies on digital media design and interactive technology.

Graduate School

本所總共分為3組,分別為「互動科技組」、「數位動畫組」及「媒體整合設計組」。其設定的研究與教學目標、發展方向與研究重點,分別朝下列幾項重點方向發展: 
The graduate school consists of three groups, the Interactive Technology Group, the Digital Animation Group and the Media Integration Design Group. Their research and teaching goals and directions for development and research are described as follows:

  • 互動科技組 Interactive Technology Group
    1. 使用者互動設計研究 Study On User Interaction Design
      使用者互動設計的研究是「人機互動設計」研究中的一環,但較著重於電腦圖形介面的議題。研究包含認知心理學、使用者經驗設計學、設計流程等方面的基礎研究的整合。對使用者互動設計能有清楚的掌握,未來才能設計符合設計行為所需的電腦輔助設計軟體。
      The study on user interaction design is a part of human–computer interaction (HCI) design and emphasizes more on the graphic interface of the computer. It includes cognitive psychology, user experience design and integration of design processes.
    2. 多媒體系統研究 Study On Multimedia System
      隨著語音、影像與動畫技術的快速進步,整合各種不同媒體技術的多媒體軟體或應用程式早已被蓬勃發展。在多媒體系統的研究上,除了探索如何妥善運用語音、影像與動畫等相關技術之外,更需整合使用者互動設計的研究與新進的相關視覺技術。
      Besides the exploration of how to use audio, video and animation well, the study of multimedia systems requires to integrate researches on user interaction design and latest relevant visual techniques.
    3. 設計資訊視覺化研究 Study On Visualization of Design Information
      新時代的數位媒體因應不同設計媒材的產生,根本為設計過程結合設計思考已有極大的轉變。透過對設計過程所使用及產出的不同數位媒材的整理與歸納分析,進而發展出有別於其他設計領域之設計思考,以建立數位設計的思考模式與知識領域。例如:案例式的設計思考與搜尋及設計數位草圖的整合等。
      Design thinking that is different from other design fields can be developed via arrangement, generalization and analysis of various digital media applied and produced during the design process. Thus, the thinking model and knowledge base of digital design can be set up.
    4. 互動多媒體系統整合研究 Study On Integration of Interactive Multimedia Systems
      互動多媒體是現今數位內容產業中發展最為迅速的一支,結合互動科技之蓬勃發展,導致人機介面有更多元之呈現,此方向將以智慧型人機介面、數位互動裝置、行動裝置、寬頻網路多媒體、跨平台媒體、與多媒體內容等進行規劃與整合。
      Interactive multimedia is the fastest growing product in the digital content industry currently. As it incorporates the burgeoning interactive technology, the human-computer interface can be manifested more diversely. Such trend leads to planning and integration of smart human-computer interface, digital interactive devices, mobile devices, broad band network multimedia, cross-platform media and multimedia contents.
    5. 設計衍生系統研究 Study On Generative Design Systems
      結合互動設計與數位媒體設計之技術,以人為本的設計衍生系統之研發是創造新時代之電腦輔助設計工具的核心問題。設計衍生系統研究,即希望能藉由整合上述的不同研究,來發展出符合各種不同需求的電腦輔助設計環境,並達到電腦科技與設計結合的目的。
      Combination of interactive design and digital media design and conducting R&Ds on human-oriented generative design systems are the core issues of computer-aided design tools in creating a new epoch. The study on generative design systems aims to develop computer-aided design environments that meet various demands via integrating the aforesaid different studies and to fulfill the goal of integrating computer technology and design.
    6. 科技藝術研究 Study On Technology Art
      科技與藝術原為一體,在現代的分類方式之下,造成本位之屏障,本著科技的角度,在個案與通案中,探討科技中之數位藝術設計因子,進而在跨領域的學習整合概念之下,以建構式方式,建立科技中的美學觀念,也為互動設計提供更宏觀的美學思維。
      Technology and art should be one unity; however, they are forced to be separated from each other by modern classification. From the aspect of technology, the design factors of digital art in technology are investigated in a case and all cases. Aesthetic concepts of technology are constructed through interdisciplinary learning and integration as well as provide a more macroscopic aesthetic thinking for interactive design.
    7. 遊戲感知與互動模式研究 Study On Game Perception and Interactive Models
      嘗試以廣義的遊戲設計結合認知實驗與學習理論之研究方法,藉由大量分析及收集統計遊戲者的認知行為與遊戲模式,探討屬於遊戲之可能的互動理論。期望形成新時代的數位遊戲設計之典範。
      It incorporates game design with cognitive experiments and learning theories. Possible interaction theories for games are explored via a large number of analyses, collections and statistics of the cognitive behaviors and game models of the game players. It is expected a model for digital game design in a new age can be established.

  • 數位動畫組 Digital Animation Group
    針對國內外動畫產業發展方向,培育學生原創動畫所需要的創意及故事開發能力,並研究業界實務製作流程及所需專業知識。課程教授以專案製作為導向學習,結合理論與實務,根據產業所需要的專業能力規劃,使學生具備動畫專業能力之人才。 
    The creativity and story developing ability required by animation creation will be cultivated in compliance with the trends of domestic and overseas animation industries and the necessary expertise during the practical production process. Project production will be orientated for learning, theories and practice will be combined and courses will be planned based on the professional capabilities required by the industry.

  • 媒體整合設計組 Media Integration Design Group
    1. 網路媒體設計研究 Study On The Web Media Design
      使用者互動設計的研究是「人機互動設計」研究中的一環,但較著重於電腦圖形介面的議題。研究包含認知心理學、使用者經驗設計學、設計流程等方面的基礎研究的整合。對使用者互動設計能有清楚的掌握,未來才能設計符合設計行為所需的電腦輔助設計軟體。
      The study on user interaction design is a part of human–computer interaction (HCI) design and emphasizes more on the graphic interface of the computer. It includes cognitive psychology, user experience design and integration of design processes.
    2. 音像設計研究 Study On Audio-Visual Design
      透過音樂與影像相關理論與概念,建構學生聽覺與視覺思考分析之能力,並以視覺與聽覺認知、符號學、傳播學等相關理論與文獻分析方式,建立音像分析與意涵傳達之研究概念,最後藉由實地參與觀察,紀錄並分析聲音與影像之情感傳達。
      The abilities of auditory and visual thinking and analysis can be built for students through theories and concepts related to music and images. The idea of audiovisual analysis and meaning communication can be established via visual and auditory cognition, theories and literature analysis of semiology and mass communication. Finally, site observations will be made and recorded and emotional communication of sounds and images can be analyzed.
    3. 數位典藏加值應用研究 Study On Value-Adding Application of Digital Archives
      數位典藏的定義為:「利用數位方式來呈現的數位資料,具有確保物件的可用性、耐久性以及知識完整性,加上詮釋資料的描述,以數位檔案的方式儲存。將原有產品或服務在其原本的基礎外,提供具有附加價值的多元化內容,是本所研究發展的方向之一。
      Digital data are characterized with availability and durability of objects as well as complete knowledge. Information is described and saved in a digital manner. In addition to the original product or service, value-added diversified contents can be provided, which is one of the directions we intend to develop.
    4. 數位學習媒體設計研究 Study On E-learning Media Design
      工具媒體的發展,近年來有重大的改革。因應新興媒材與工具方法,學習模式因此而多元寬廣。規劃完整的媒材,建立順暢的同步、非同步學習平台,期使學生能善用媒體與資源,拓展具實務產質之機會舞台與成果表現。
      There is a great reformation of media tools and learning models become more diverse to cope with new media and tools. Complete media materials need to be planned to set up a smooth learning platform that can be synchronous or asynchronous. We hope students may make good use of these media and resources to embrace the opportunities of presenting their capabilities.
    5. 創新設計研究 Study On Innovative Design
      設計創新是透過設計論述的過程,在產品符號、風格與意義上的創新。設計創新談的不是科技導向的創新,運用科技突破開創新的市場需求,也不是市場導向以滿足消費者需求為主要目標的創新。設計創新是一種以設計語言突破為驅動力的創新,風格、象徵與符號可以引領時尚並創造市場的需求。
    6. 服務設計研究 Study On Service Design
      服務同設計兩個概念的結合在設計學的發展過程中是一個比較新穎的領域。服務設計主要研究將設計學的理論和方法系統性地運用到服務的創造、定義和規劃中。服務設計是以客戶的某一需求為出發點,通過運用創造性的、以人為本的、客戶參與的方法,確定服務提供的方式和內容的過程。服務設計作為一門學科,不應當孤立的看待,而應該同服務開發、管理、運營和行銷結合起來。
      Service design is to apply the theories and methods of design to creation, definition and planning of service in a systematic way. It starts with a certain demand of the customer and ensures the methods and contents of service providing by utilizing a creative, human-based and customer participative approach.
